How to Avoid Dead Links
Dead links are one of the most common frustrations for new buyers. A seller may close their shop, remove a listing, or run out of stock. Here is how to reduce the chance of ordering a dead link:
Always click the link directly before pasting it into Kakobuy. If the Taobao page shows "Item not found," the link is dead.
Check the spreadsheet entry date. Links from more than 90 days ago are more likely to be stale.
If the Kakobuy order page shows "This link is unavailable" after you paste it, the listing has been removed or changed.
For critical items, check if multiple spreadsheet entries list the same product from different sellers. This gives you backup options.
Ask in the community Discord or Telegram for a current link if the one you found appears stale.
How to Verify a Link Before Ordering
Check the listing page
Confirm the item is in stock, the price matches what you expect, and the seller is still active. Look for recent reviews on the listing.
Check the seller rating
On the seller's storefront page, look at their overall rating and recent review trends. A rating below 4.5 is worth investigating further.
Look for QC references
Search the community spreadsheet or Discord for QC photos from the same link. If the link has no QC history, consider it a higher-risk order.
Compare price and shipping
If the price is significantly lower than other sellers for the same item, it may be a different product or a lower-tier batch. Compare carefully.
Read the size notes
Chinese sizing often differs from Western sizing. If the spreadsheet entry includes size notes, use them. If not, order one size up as a default.
Check the return policy
Some sellers offer 7-day return policies. Others do not. If you are unsure about a seller, prioritize listings with return options.
How to Check QC Before Shipping
The QC process is what separates a good buying experience from a bad one. After your item arrives at the Kakobuy warehouse, you should request QC photos before approving international shipment. Here is the step-by-step process:
Request QC photos
Go to your order page and click "Request QC Photos." The warehouse will photograph the item within 1-2 business days.
Inspect the photos
Compare the QC photos to the listing. Check logos, stitching, color, tags, and materials. Look for any discrepancies.
Compare with community references
If you have community QC photos from the same seller, compare them to your photos. Look for batch consistency or variation.
Approve or reject
If the item matches your expectations, approve for international shipping. If not, reject the item and open a dispute for a return or refund.
Repeat for every item
Do this for every item in your haul. Never approve the entire haul for shipment without reviewing every individual QC photo.
